                    Advanced Orthokeratology

Accelerated or advanced orthokeratology, also referred to as Corneal Refractive Therapy®, AOK, or DREAM® lenses, can provide patients with clear daytime vision without the hassles of glasses or daytime contact lenses.

Traditional orthokeratology has been around for over 50 yrs. The development of newer safe rigid contact lens materials (high oxygen permeability) and custom contact lens designs (called reverse-geometry designs) has allowed for the acceleration and increased efficacy of this process. This process involves the designing and fitting of special rigid gas permeable contact lenses  that gently reshapes the front surface of they cornea while you sleep. This process is approved of patients of any age however there are limits to the degrees of myopia (i.e. near-sightedness) it treats. Also some experts believe that orthokeratology slows down the progression of nearsightedness.
