Lisa Tran is our optometric technician and receptionist. Her role mainly involves customer service and performing specialty testing on our patients including retinal photography, topography, visual field testing, auto-refraction and contact lens training & education. Lisa was born Frankfurt Germany and moved to Vancouver in 2009. Prior to joining Ironwood Optometry, she worked as a receptionist at a family medical clinic for 3 years. She enjoys exercising, music and baking. Lisa also has a heart for adoptable or treatable animals, and is involved in helping our local animal shelters.
Jennifer has been with Ironwood Optometry for over four years, she serves as our front desk receptionist with managerial duties including inventory, accounts payable/receivables, marketing and customer service. She also is a part time accounting student at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and she interns part time at TD Canada trust. She enjoys biking, fine dining and going to Canucks hockey games.
Trisha is the newest member of our team as recently received her Medical Office Assistant Associate Certificate. She is one of our office administrators and optometric technicians. Her clinical duties include retinal photography, nerve fiber layer imaging, contact lens fitting/training, and autorefraction/keratometry. She possess strong patient client skills as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
Lisa Moore is the clinic office manager for Ironwood Optometry Clinic. She has over 10 years in the optical and optometric field. Born and raised in Vancouver, Lisa moved to Campbell River on Vancouver Island for approximately 20 years where she worked for a major retail optical store where she learned about the industry and dispensed glasses. From there she moved back to the lower mainland to be closer to family. For 5 years, she worked as the Customer Service Representative and Lens Consultant for Essilor Labratories.
Her major roles included ophthalmic sales, trouble shooting customers concerns regarding patients vision care, informing them on various types of lenses available which best suits their needs and as well as specialty lens treatments. Our clinic is very grateful to have Lisa come on board.
Joanne Chan has served at Ironwood Optometry Clinic as a optometrist technician and weekend office manager/receptionist for over 3 years. She has started optometry school at State University of New York School of Optometry in 2014. She is received her BSc in Biology from the University of British Columbia in 2014.
Her services with us has been invaluable to our clinic and we wish her the best as she continues her studies abroad.
Dr John Kim
Dr John Kim is a native of British Columbia and received his Bachelors of Science (BS) degree from the University of British Columbia. He then continued his professional education at State University of New York (SUNY), State College of Optometry in New York City, NY where he earned both his Doctor of Optometry (OD) and Masters of Science in Vision Science (MS) degrees. Dr Kim furthered his education by completing a residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at SUNY, State College of Optometry. He remained in Academia for the next 10 years as a Clinical Professor at SUNY, State College of Optometry. As well, Dr Kim worked 6 years at St. Mary’s Eye and Surgery Center, a well known ophthalmology practice with several offices in the Tri-State Area. Dr Kim has over 10 yrs experience in treating and managing all stages of glaucoma, medical retina and pre and post-operative surgical management. Dr Kim also specializes in contact lens fittings, eye diseases, pediatrics, low-vision and remains committed in providing you with the best possible eye care.
Dr Jason Ding
Dr. Ding received his Bachelors of Science in Integrated Sciences from the University of British Columbia before earning his Doctor of Optometry degree at the State University of New York, State College of Optometry. He completed intership training at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Dr Ding is also received residency training in ocular disease at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System in Montrose, NY.
Together with Dr Kim, Dr Ding also served in academia as Clinical Professor at the University Optometric Center in State University of New York, in New York City. He was active in teaching and supervising future Optometrists. Since moving back to B.C. Dr. Ding has enjoyed serving the patients in the communities he grew up in. He also works at Southpoint Optometry Clinic in South Surrey. Dr Ding specializes in ocular disease, primary care optometry and contact lenses.
